As a Business Owner YOU need a break NOT your marketing

By Coach Hein

It has been a very emotionally draining and taxing year for most business owners and everyone that has survived the perils of lockdown with their business in tact deserves a medal. Having said that most of our clients have recently posted turnover levels higher than pre-covid levels indicating a really strong recovery trajectory and positioning their businesses well for a solid 2021!

With the time lost to the lockdown it is tempting for business owners to feel that a break over the festive season is not warranted but this would be a mistake.  We do see a lot of burnout with business owners being physically and emotionally engaged in the business 24/7 and this is not sustainable.

We help business owners to build a commercial profitable enterprise that can work without them, to ensure the desired lifestyle balance is struck between time and money.

So as a business owners you should absolutely be taking time off to recharge but don’t stop your marketing over the festive period.

There are several good reasons for this:

 1. Firstly, it is very likely that your target market will also be taking a break and they will most likely have more time to engage with social media or other online content, you can capitalise on this by ensuring your marketing reaches them during this period.

 2. Secondly, you need to keep your lead funnel full.  If you don’t do any marketing over the festive period you will most likely start January with a empty lead funnel during what is traditionally a lean month for most business. Not a good space to be in.

3. Thirdly, consistency is key in marketing, you need to continuously engage with your target market.  Consistent relevant marketing will beat any big bang approach hands down over the long term.

So, as a business owner you absolutely need and deserve a break over the festive season but don’t stop your marketing! If you are not sure how to put your marketing plan onto auto pilot talk to us
